Documenting a bold transformation

Kollar Clothing’s journey to re-emerge as David Kollar marks a significant shift for a brand known for its distinct style and meticulous craftsmanship. Since 2018, we’ve witnessed their ongoing evolution, and now our role is to create a documentary that chronicles this transition. Rather than just announcing a name change, we’re illustrating how a brand adapts in a landscape driven by creativity, authenticity, and meaningful engagement with its audience.

This project allows us to highlight the vision behind David Kollar, revealing what sets it apart and how it plans to resonate in an ever-evolving fashion world. By showing the process, the people, and the reasoning behind strategic choices, we’re capturing a narrative that explores the intersection of innovation, heritage, and the desire to continuously refine a brand’s identity.

BEBEBOY

A vivid portrayal of the risky yet rewarding world of music

For BEBEBOY’s “EN CAMINO,” we needed to create visuals that conveyed more than lyrics, they needed to reflect an artist’s entire journey within the music industry. We developed a narrative anchored by a symbolic “wedding day” sequence, where the music business itself took on a metaphorical role. Filmed at The Don and captured with a RED V-Raptor 8K camera, we chose angles, lighting, and pacing that reinforced the core themes of risk, transformation, and the delicate balance between artistry and ambition. We knew that subtlety was key. The video’s imagery, from the set design to the final reveal, was intended to resonate with viewers who understand that pursuing a career in music involves moments of uncertainty and courage. This approach aligns with MAFIC’s focus on content that doesn’t just look good, it carries weight and meaning, connecting the audience to the artist’s broader narrative.

Sam Drysdale

Racing against time to shoot an impromptu music video

The request came with just four hours’ notice: produce a music video for Sam Drysdale’s “Only the Strong Survive.” We embraced the challenge, knowing that constraints often spark innovative thinking. At Coin 8 Studio, we focused on straightforward setups, a grand piano, carefully placed lighting, and minimalistic backdrops to emphasize the raw emotion in Sam’s performance. By working with what we had and adapting quickly, we turned a tight timeline into a defining element of the shoot. Instead of feeling rushed, we directed that energy into purposeful decision-making. The outcome was a video that felt honest and immediate, demonstrating MAFIC’s ability to stay agile and deliver meaningful results, even when the clock is ticking.
